human-made, always
my promise
I don't use generative AI in my work or personal life. It is fundamentally at odds with my ethics and belief in Tikkun Olam—that we must do whatever we can to leave the world better than we found it.
The unfortunate truth is that fortune 500 corporations, VCs, and the powers that be are forcing it on us. Wherever possible, I will turn off and refrain from using AI.
why do I hate ai?
I won't bore you with extremely cold takes, but as an artist, as someone who cares about community, as someone who cares about the environment and our ability to survive as a species, I cannot in good conscience use AI.
global majority, tech minority
Sadly, among designers and in the tech world, folks are all too comfortable diving head-first into generative AI.
My background is in the arts and I've built a career that allows me to build up other artists and creatives. I studied entertainment, artist management, and intellectual property law in undergrad. I know how nefarious these large language models are, having been trained on stolen IP to mimic what fundamentally sets us apart as humanity—our creativity—and in turn strip us of our livelihoods, security, and community.
I encourage you to take action. Support local creatives and small businesses, turn off AI wherever you can, lobby your representatives… No one person can do it all, but you can find your one small way to contribute to the cause.
